Came here with friends. Solid meal with various vegetarian options (just ask server they aren't all on the menu), and excellent service. Definitely recommend.

This is my weekly stop each week after practice. Excellent Syrian food. Try the lamb dinner, grapes leaves or anything that catches your eye.

I am so glad I looked up this town on the Internet before stopping. When I read that there is a Syrian culture here I went on yelp and found this place. Out of all of the Syrian food I've had in my life this is along with the best! Anyone driving on I-80 needs to get off the road, take a break and have some of the best food you've ever had in your life!

Best Middle Eastern food I have ever had. The service is fantastic and the specials never disappoint me. I highly recommend Mary's.

I love Middle Eastern food but had not ever had Syrian before - I picked a combo platter so got lamb on the rod, grape leaves, hummus and kibbee. All were very good although the kibbee was a little different than what I have had before. While I was eating several men who I assume were family of the owners setup shop at the tables next to me with a big plate of hummus, raw tomatoes, cucumbers, some sort of green beans and a huge plate of raw kibbee. I'd never seen it served raw, I assume perhaps because I live in NY and I suspect the NY health department frowns on it. It looked really good and I was tempted to ask the gentlemen if I could try some as I wouldn't want to order a whole plate in case I didn't like it. We are moving to the area so I expect I'll definitely be back to Mary's again - maybe next time I'll be brave enough to ask!

Mary's is the best ! Feel like some food from the west ? I'm not sure if it's actually "Syrian" food but whatever it is it's great. Lamb, Grape Leaves, Kibbee, Peppers and Garlic Sauce - YES PLEASE !

The booth at fair was terrible. Ordered a chicken gyro and the guy gave me the outside of the chicken that was on the spit which was basically the skin of the chicken. It was gross!!! A huge waste of 8 dollars.

I can not say enough how wonderful this place is! We all know the food is amazing but the staff is phenomenal!!!!! I had my husbands surprise 30th bday here ( they have a little room you can use for privacy) They kept up with everyone's needs and nobody had any issues. It was a fast and smooth dinner our waitress, which I'm awful and didn't catch her name was AMAZING! So kind and on spot! (Cute girl with red hair side shaved) Shout out you are awesome and I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name.

The food is incredible. A favorite that I always get to when I find myself in the area, and even sometimes when I'm craving hummus or lamb. Not only is everything delicious, but extremely reasonable in price. The family that owns it takes enormous pride in the food they prepare daily. I recommend Mary's to anyone in the New Castle area.

Heard a lot of good things about this place. Overall it was pretty disappointing. I'm not sure what the appeal is of putting over processed fast food-style dill pickles on what is supposed to be Middle Eastern food is, but here they throw them on their gyros and hummus plate. Being sticklers when it comes to Middle Eastern cuisine, a friend asked the waitress if they made their own gyro meat before ordering. She stated that they did. Unless they own the factory that prepackages the halal lamb slices, she fibbed. The Kibbee was also flavorless and not very appetizing. The lamb on rice was decent. The hummus was pretty good, but we were confused about the inclusion of the 3 pickle sliced slapped on top. The pitas aren't traditional - more like frozen bread dough shaped like a pita. The food here is relatively inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. A return trip is definitely not in our future.

Good food. Love the kibbee and grape leaves. Resturant is clean and well kept. Accepts credit cards. Dine in or carry out. Great garlic sauce and bread. Always a good dinner or lunch here.

I have eaten here many times and have sampled most of the menu. All in all very good restaurant. Food is a five star and prices are very good for the quality. Only thing keeping this place from being a five star is cramped uncomfortable seating and less than stellar service. The wait staff has always been friendly and informed just not the quickest service. Even with that I would not hesitate to recommend to anymore and will continue to frequent this establishment

GREAT family-owned middle eastern food... nothing fancy. BYO wine with $5. corkage fee. Has beer and some wine. Food is PLENTIFUL and VERY authentic. Locals frequent this place for a reason. We travel 30 minutes regularly to get our "fix" !

Western Pennsylvania is known for its Syrian food, and Mary's is the best there is. Beyond the food, they've also got a great, clean, modern facility and offer good service.

Incredible food! Seriously impressed by this very casual dining establishment. Family friendly, clean, friendly. And our food was some of the best Mediterranean that we've ever had. Sarah our waitress was above and beyond helpful and happy too. All around one of the better dining experiences we've had. And prices were great too!

My favorite Middle Eastern Restaurant. I drive 45 minutes to get here. Owner is very friendly and wait staff is fast. I have never had a bad meal or experience at Mary's. Anytime I have taken anyone new, they have also enjoyed food and said they'd be back.

Came here because of Yelp reviews. Was not let down. This place is AWESOME. I have been to many Mediterranean restaurants in my day and this place is in the top 3. If price is a consideration than this place is the best hands down. Stop reading this review and go there. You wont be disappointed.

Being a little Irish/German girl, I didn't really know what half this stuff was the first time I came here. But what you need to know is: it tastes amazing! Super authentic food, delicious lamb. You will leave with garlic breath and you will love it.

I have eaten inside the restaurant once, and had take out a few times as well. I have to say that this place is amazing. Mary's was the first place I ever tried for Middle Eastern and I fell in love. The Lamb on the Rod, The Kofta burger, and the kibbi are my favorites

Love this place! I had lamb here once and it was to die for! Had great service and will be back in the future.

Mary's is a staple of the Western PA eating experience. My first visit was when I was in college, and I've made the drive back to New Castle on a handful of occasions for the sake of nostalgia and the promise of a solid meal. The interior has been re-hauled - it's less of a hole in the wall than I remember from back in 2005, but the family-owned restaurant feel remains. Love the lamb on the rod. Everything else is great too.

Very good food overall. I ordered the falafel and a side salad. Both were very good - probably one of the best falafels I've ever eaten actually. The side salad was pretty boring, but they have better options. I wasn't a fan of the house dressing, so I asked for a cup of the dressing that they use on the Fattush salad and thought it was excellent (the Fattush salad in general is excellent with fried pita bread... yum!). The service was OK overall. Our actual waitress was not the best - at one point she was having a full blown conversation with another customer while we were in need of things like drinks - but the girl who brought out the food was very quick (and the food itself came out very quickly). I'm disappointed that they don't have vegetarian rice though - would be nice to have some more options for those who don't want chicken broth in everything!

Great place to have a outstanding meal. It's seriously one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. Childhood favorite.

I go to Mary's every time I come back home. Nothing like it in Florida. I love the Lamb on Syrian bread. Excellent.

Marys food is amazing and a real bargain to boot. It's worth the trip if you are anywhere close to New Castle. I do not like lamb (although friends who do rave about the lamb) but I love the Marinated chicken, especially with the white garlic sauce. Believe it or not, the small chicken is enough for one person (but it is nice to have leftovers too). Also, the salads are unique. I especially love the spinach salad and the Fatush. I live in Philadelphia and I wonder sometimes why I cannot find a Syrian restaurant here that I like as much.

I chose Mary's based on the yelp reviews and my undying love of Middle Eastern food. My expectations were admittedly low...I just didn't believe that rural PA would have great ME food. Boy, was I wrong. Mary's was GREAT. In fact it was some of the best I've had in a very long time. I started with the kibbe (one of my favorite things to eat), then for my entree I had the Kuffta on the Rod - Ground Lamb rolled on a skewer and served with Hummos & Tabbouli. All was absolutely delicious and way too much food. Service was also great. And for under $20 with tip? Even more amazing.

Okay, so it's not the cleanest place in town...who cares?!?!?! The food here is killer and unfortunately, I only started going right before I moved out of town. I'm back in town and this place is on the list of where we will be stopping. It says something when my wife is bringing up the place every couple days, asking when we can go. If you are up for some authentic food, you must stop by. Highly Recommend.

This restaurant and food will make you do crazy things... like drive from Washington, D.C. to Mary's and back in one day. My family and I have been known to do this on several occasions. Bar none, the best Syrian food. Kibbeh Neyah here I come...

I was in New Castle for a wedding and needed to get some lunch before the ceremony because I was starving. I saw that this was one of the best rated restaurants in the area, and it did not disappoint! I had the falafel sandwich, which was great. I had some of the hummus, which was OK and bread was OK as well. I sampled a few other of my family's dishes as well, and they were all good. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area!

We left the house as soon as the Steelers won and went straight for Mary's. The four of us walked in about 8:30 PM and immediately got seated. There were several groups of people finishing meals and one group playing cards. Our waitress's were very attentive and polite. Our meals? Lamb on the rod, Yakni, kibbee, tabula, grape leaves, hummus, and a load of bread. Really, everything was very good. Serving size is just right for me, a little too big for the women in the group. That just means we have a little something special for lunch later. Yum, Yum, Yum. Mary's is a great choice for Syrian food, in a pleasant , casual atmosphere, with authentic food.

I was born in New Castle, Pa., and returned for a funeral. I searched Yelp for restaurants and went to Mary's based on Yelp reviews. The food was great -- my companions and I loved the hummos, baqbaghanoug, grape leaves, falafel. The only dish that didn't particularly impress me was the tabbouli. The prices were stunningly low compared to Washington, D.C. restaurants.

Mary's is my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant. It looks awesome now that they remodeled it too. The lamb is my favorite! They have yummy hummus and kibby too. I highly recommend it!

The best middle eastern food around! Everything is delicious especially the lamb. We enjoy Mary's everytime we are in NE Ohio.
